Our wedding cakes start at $9 a serving and up for tiered cakes finished in buttercream, and at $10 a serving and up for cakes covered in fondant. Back-up or “satellite” cakes are $6.00 per serving. These buttercream-topped sheet cakes are cut in the kitchen to supplement your display cake. Custom wedding cakes require a minimum of 35 servings. If you have less than 35 guests, you may want to consider our Petit Tier Collection. If you’d like to see how many tiers your wedding cake would be based on your guest count, kindly visit our Wedding Cake Serving Chart. Delivery fees are additional and based on distance, time and logistics.

When it comes to decorating cakes, fondant and buttercream are two of the most popular options, each with its own unique characteristics.
FONDANT: THE SMOOTH OPERATOR
Fondant is primarily made from sugar, water, and vegan gelatin. It has a pliable texture that can be rolled out and draped over cakes. It provides a sleek, smooth porcelain-like finish, making it ideal for a polished look. Perfect for intricate designs and heavy cake decoration.
At Lulu’s, we offer an imported Italian fondant known for its soft, delicate finish, which is not excessively sweet, crusty, or hard like the domestic brands often seen in wedding cakes today. Although it comes at a higher price than American fondant, we believe it is truly worth the investment!
BUTTERCREAM: THE FLAVORFUL CLASSIC
Our signature buttercream is a rich and silky frosting created by combining whipped egg whites with hot sugar syrup, then incorporating softened, farm-fresh butter and Singing Dog vanilla. Renowned for its smooth texture and balanced sweetness, it holds its shape beautifully, making it an excellent choice for cake decoration. In fact, all of our fondant cakes feature a thin crumb coating of buttercream before being covered with rolled fondant. This versatile frosting can be piped into various designs and can achieve a perfectly smooth finish—just as polished as fondant! It also lends itself to textured finishes, vintage piping, scrollwork, Swiss dots, and ribbed designs, among others classic finishes .
It’s not just what’s on the outside that counts. Arranging for a Tasting with Lulu Bakery is an opportunity to not only sample delicious flavors but also to collaborate with our team to design a cake that perfectly complements your special day.
